Build your capacity to support children to develop resilience, confidence and respectful relationships.
Everyone in our community deserves to be respected, valued and treated equally. We know the benefits of positive attitudes, behaviours and equality being embedded in our education settings. The Respectful Relationships initiative is offering professional learning for early childhood educators in Victorian government funded kindergarten programs.
The professional learning is designed to strengthen the capacity of early childhood educators to promote respectful relationships, positive attitudes and behaviours within their teaching approach, to enable children to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence. It will also increase educator knowledge about the role of gender equality in the prevention of family violence, and is informed by the Respectful Relationships in schools approach recommended by the Royal Commission into Family Violence.
Up to 6000 early childhood educators will opt in and benefit from the professional learning.
The training is available to early childhood educators working in Victorian government funded kindergarten programs with a bachelor, diploma or certificate III qualification. The 2018 workshops will be available to educators in Victorian government funded kindergarten programs in Boroondara, Manningham, Whitehorse, Knox, Maroondah, Monash, and Yarra Ranges municipalities with a state-wide rollout to take place in 2019 and 2020.
